Ashland Oregon is a little over 300 miles from Parkdale and should only take about 6 hours to drive. Well it took Heather and I 12 hours to drive home from the Oregon Guild Conference on Thursday. We had to stop at Rising Sun Farms, TouVelle House B&B, Rogue Creamery and Lille Belle Chocolates. And those were just the stops before getting out of the Rogue River Valley!! I won’t bore you with all the many more stops. Photo ops, potties, coffee, you get the idea.
A stop at Bob’s Red Mill is always a must and of course if one is in Portland might as well get a Costco stop in, too.
Another must stop is Upscale Consignment. Sometimes we’re looking for something, most of the time we just browse, never know what you’ll find, something you just can’t live without. Well, let me tell ya, I scored. The Old Parkdale Inn has needed new lamps for our guest rooms, better reading lamps. Our Gauguin Room has a tropical theme and I found the cutest lamps, the stem looks like a tree and in the tree are two parrots and for Monet, two very whimsical French Provincial style complete with beaded shades. And a floor lamp and another lovely little lamp with a Tiffany style molded glass shade that now lights up our gift shop. So 6 lamps, two cool green wicker chairs for the patio, they look really good in our common room, and a book stand later, it’s a good thing Heather has a big truck!
