I have acquired a new hobby. Or should I say an obsession. Geocaching. ”Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online. Geocaching is enjoyed by people …from all age groups, with a strong sense of community and support for the environment. Geocaching.com is the headquarters for the activity”
There are over 20 Geocaches within a 10 mile radius of the Old Parkdale Inn, many within walking distance. Come on up, stay a spell and I’ll share some of my favorites with you. I am in Little Rock, Arkansas, this week, at a Bed and Breakfast Conference. But I made sure to download some caches onto my Garmin and so far I have found 6 just walking around this lovely City. Geocaching is a great way to explore places you’ve never been, sites you’ve never seen. I actually have Friday off and am thinking about renting a car so I might drive to Oklahoma and Texas to pick up a couple state souvenirs. Yeah, a little obsessed!!
