Let’s go on an Adventure with Cascade Canyon Guides

Cascade Canyon Guides

Andrew Jimenez, owner and lead guide of Cascade Canyon Guides has had the privilege to professionally lead trips through the Columbia River Gorge and into the Canyons since 2018. He has graciously offered our guests at the Old Parkdale Inn a 10% discount on all his trips. When you book with us request a discount code, from us, before booking your trip with Cascade Canyon Guides.

Andrew is a wildflower nerd and has been studying the blooms in the Gorge for the last 6+ years. From March through August he knows where, and when, to find the flowers and loves sharing this special time of year with people.

Guided Wildflower Hikes starting in March

Spring is just around the corner and I’ve heard rumors some have found the lovely Grass Widow on the eastern side of the Columbia River Gorge. The stunning blooms of wildflowers that make the Gorge such an attractive place to experience nature’s display are going on now and into May.

On this wildflower tour you’ll dive into the sublime desert steppe of the Eastern Columbia Gorge. Birds, frogs, and our footsteps will be the only sounds you’ll hear as we break away from the road and begin our hike in a classic pine-oak forest. After 3/4 of a mile of walking through the forest, you’ll emerge onto a green field and make a 2 mile loop of two hills. You’ll have the chance to identify up to 30 different wildflowers along the way and enjoy expansive views of nearby mountains, farms and the Columbia River from the top of each hill. Take time to learn as much as you’d like about the different flowers, landscape, and natural history of the area. You’ll walk, talk and send your cameras home nice and full. Trip total of 3.5 miles roundtrip.

Guided Waterfall Hikes in the Waterfall Corridor of the Columbia River Gorge

These hikes are designed to meet your groups interests and abilities. We are regularly guiding several routes that all end with a big, classic Pacific Northwest waterfall. These guided tours begin in June

Introductory Canyoning Tours

Whether this is a once in a lifetime experience or you are looking to become a self sufficient canyoneer, Cascade Canyon Guides demonstrate, teach and continuously improve your canyon skills throughout the day.

What is Canyoning? Unique Experiences in the Columbia Gorge and Cascade Mountain

Canyoning is a technical, team sport that requires specific equipment, skills and expertise to descend otherwise impassable canyons. This is done by rappelling, swimming, sliding, down-climbing, hiking & wading.

Canyoning is truly for anyone willing to demonstrate the respect it merits. Cascade Canyon Guides has trips for different skill levels and canyoning gives every one of us a chance to succeed in different ways. Also, it’s really FUN!

Some of Andrew’s professional training include: Wilderness First Responder, Swift Water Rescue, Steep and High Angle Rescue. He is a member of the Skamania County Search and Rescue Team and is Certified Professional Guide with the American Canyoneering Association. Between professional, volunteer and recreational adventures Andrew spends over 200 days a year in the backcountry.
