I give you 5 reasons to love the Hood River Valley. The valley is just about as pretty as it gets on a sunny day, with the Columbia River and it’s Gorge at our doorstep and Mount Hood in our backyard.
#1 – The Hood River Valley is a very fruity place
The acres and acres of blossoms in the Hood River Valley have now turned to itsy bitsy pieces of fruit. And for the next 4 months we will watch them grow and wait for the amazing crop of pears, apples, cherries, peaches and other varieties of fruit. In June and July come the berries and cherries, August, stone fruit, September so many varieties of pears and apples you’ll need days to try them all.
#2 – Great trails nearby for hiking and biking
The Old Parkdale Inn is only minutes from the Mt Hood National Forest, the Columbia River Gorge where a trail awaits. If you prefer mountain or road biking there’s that, too.
#3 – Dining is fine in Parkdale Oregon
At the Old Parkdale Inn we take great pride in providing you with a hearty breakfast to start your day. We serve up the bounty of the Hood River Valley and the Columbia River Gorge. We focus our breakfasts around what is being harvested in the Valley. After breakfast we’ll share some of favorite dining spots. Of course, three of them are right here in Parkdale, within a couple of blocks of the Inn.
#4 – Have you heard about the award winning wines and craft breweries in Hood River?
The award winning wineries of the Hood River Valley are sharing space with world famous fruit orchards and the wines are becoming just as famous as its fruit. The Columbia River Gorge is home to 12 breweries, each having their own unique style and flavor. Beer is serious business in the Gorge.
