How to Stay, Play, Ski and Relax like a pro in Mt Hood Parkdale

Mt Hood Meadows and Timberline Ski Areas will manage slope capacity two different ways.

Mt. Hood Meadows operates on a special use permit in the Mt. Hood National Forest, offering some of the most spectacular skiing and snowboarding in the Northwest. The resort is just 67 miles from Portland, and it delivers a big mountain experience you’d expect to travel much farther to enjoy. The resort sprawls across Mt. Hood’s southeast flank: the sunny side of Mt. Hood. Meadows’ terrain welcomes and challenges all levels of skiers and snowboarders.

Cooper Spur Mountain Resort is a popular ski area located on the slopes of Mt. Hood. It offers a variety of terrain for all levels of skiers and snowboarders. The Nordic Center at Cooper Spur Mountain Resort provides 6.5 kilometers of trails for skating, traditional striding and snowshoeing. Steeped in history, Cooper Spur is one of the oldest ski areas in North America!

Timberline Ski Area Timberline is the only ski area in U.S. open ten months of the year. We have 4,540 vertical feet, more than anybody else in the United States. We’re located near the top of an 11,245-foot volcano, Mt. Hood, the tallest mountain in Oregon.

SNO-PARK PERMITS
Get your Sno-Park Permit here. Sno-Park permits are required in designated Sno-Parks, including ski areas, from November 1 – April 30. If you want to purchase a 1-day or 3-day permit you can search for a Sno-Park Permit vendor in you area here. Parkdale Farm Supply in downtown Parkdale is our local vendor.

There are three types of Sno-Park permits:

  • Annual permit which you can use for the current winter season of November 1 to April 30,
  • 3-day permit which you can use on three consecutive days, and
  • 1-day permit which you can use on one calendar day.

These will be required if you’re driving a vehicle to The Mountain and designated area.
