‘Once in Parkdale you’ll find everything you need, a brewery, a BBQ joint, a nice cafe, and some wonderful hosts at the Old Parkdale Inn who welcome bikepackers with open arms.’ Oregon Timber Trail
The Hood Tier Gorge Loop of the Oregon Timber Trail
Already making plans to ride the newest Hood Tier Loop of the Oregon Timber Trail? Take a look at the Stiletsi & the White Crane and start dreaming. A 150 mile loop sampling some of the best singletrack, scenic views, and forgotten connections through Dufur’s Hill Country, Mt. Hood’s subalpine, and the Columbia River Gorge.
Tie the mighty Columbia River to Mt. Hood through Wasco County’s hill country and the verdant Hood River Valley along ribbons of backcountry singletrack. The mountain, the forest, the prairie, and the river all converge here creating a varied splendor of geology, flora, fauna, and many layers of human history.
This Hood Tier Gorge Loop was developed with a partnership between the Oregon Timber Trail Alliance and the Mt. Hood and Columbia River Gorge Regional Tourism Alliance to provide more riders the experience of the Oregon Timber Trail’s Hood Tier through the gateway communities of Hood River, Mosier, The Dalles, Dufur, and Parkdale.
The Oregon Timber Trail Alliance has identified 9 gateway communities that make the Oregon Timber Trail experience possible. Parkdale, Oregon, is one of them, mile 639, #ottmile639. In Parkdale riders can get supplies, a hot meal and a cold beer and stay at the Old Parkdale Inn.
Trail Riders can choose a hot shower and comfy bed in the inn for their last night. Or a tent spot in our gardens. Tenters will be allowed to use our personal facilities and can also choose to have breakfast to get you started on your last leg into Hood River.
